A gneiss trad and top-rope area, no pun intended. If you live near Western Mass and can't travel far to the larger crags in New England, this is a great place to try on a weekday or even a weekend. There is the main face with many classic 5.8's through 11's, but there are many lesser known crags that warrant some attention.
Rose Ledges are popular with local Outing Clubs and Colleges, but they tend to only dominate the Main Face. Hike a little further and discover the French King Buttress, the Slabs, the Buoux Buttress and the Pendulum Buttress. All quality mini-crags within themselves. This guide sets out to feature the many classic climbs and give an overview of Rose.
