Smith Rock made history more than once with the venue of rapbolting and hangdogging. Those new ethics (or lack of) helped the sport a lot and allowed Smith Rock to host the first 14a (To Bolt Or Not To Be) and the first 14c (Just Do It - now 14b) of the country.

The climbing here is technical and sometimes runout. After many years, Smith is still a popular destination and should stay so for many years.
Be aware that the weekends get really crowded.
