Rumney has been the best sport climbing area in the Northeast for a while, but with all the new hard routes put up by Dave Graham and the like, it is now getting recognition worldwide.
But don't be afraid, you don't need to climb 5.14 to appreciate the place as there are routes of all difficulties.
The routes here are usually short and steep, powerful yet technical. There is much more than what's in this guide, so check out Ward Smith's guidebook for more information.

There is decent bouldering to be found in Rumney but it's not included in this guide.
