Not too far from Flagstaff and Phoenix, Groom Creek will sure please the granite lover. Just outside the city of Prescott, Groom Creek is at an elevation of about 6,000, feet which makes it perfect in spring and fall.

The rock here is slick (although it can get coarse in some places) and the majority of the problems are faces.
Groom Creek has this "oldschool" feeling to it.
Definitely worth the detour.
