Gear climbing
Palisades Park in Oneonta is a great area right outside of Birmingham. It offers over 90 gear routes with some stellar bouldering. Routes range from 25' to 75 in height with generally solid stone and good gear. (Although at times it's a bit sparce). The main wall is south facing and provides a good year round crag with sun in the winter and shade in the summer. It has the cush 30 second approach and plenty of parking. Sounds good? Right? Well if you're looking for a convient place to climb or just cutting your leading teeth, then Palisades Park might be for you...
